Education for All: Berber Girls' Access & Education

In many of Morocco's rural communities, education takes second priority to sustaining livelihoods, particularly during the harvest season when children’s labor becomes indispensable; impacting school attendance, impairing learning from the earliest stages and contributing to the cycle of poverty in future generations. Further, girls are often excluded due to safety concerns and the distance between the home and school locations.

Youth play a crucial role in catalyzing the comprehensive and transformative development of the Moroccan economies and of rural and urban life. Active participation of youth in all project development phases empowers them to create socio-economic and environmental change and develop self-reliance.

Working with Education for All, PaperSeed provided high quality furnishings and equipment for a girls’ boarding house in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Click here to learn more about this project.
